                                          University "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje

Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje is the first state university in the Republic of North Macedonia, established in 1949 with three faculties. Today, it represents a community of 23 faculties, 5 scientific institutes, 4 public scientific institutions as affiliated members, 1 affiliated higher education institution, and 7 affiliated organizations. Its operations are governed by the Law on Higher Education and the University Statute.

The University offers study programs in all scientific disciplines, including natural and mathematical sciences, technical and technological sciences, medical sciences and health, biotechnical sciences, social sciences, humanities, and the arts. In addition to the faculties, research activities are also conducted at the scientific institutes within the University.

The profile of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje can be illustrated through the following figures: more than 22,700 students are enrolled in the first cycle of studies and 14,100 in the second cycle. The third cycle—doctoral studies—is conducted through the School of Doctoral Studies, with a total of 1,545 doctoral candidates. Over 3,100 academic, research, and administrative staff are involved in the educational and research processes at the faculties and institutes.

Throughout its development, the University has produced approximately 194,000 highly qualified graduates, more than 21,300 master’s degree holders and specialists, and around 5,570 doctoral degree holders across all academic disciplines.

Beyond its academic and research activities, the University is characterized by its rich tradition of extracurricular involvement, including sports, arts, information, recreational, and other activities organized through various societies, unions, clubs, and similar organizations.
