The Foundation Athanass Bliznakov at the University Saint. "Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje was established by a Decision of the University Council, adopted at its 148th session on 18 April 1977, and a Decision amending and supplementing the Decision on the establishment of the "Atanas Bliznakov" Fund at the University "Kiril and Methodius" in Skopje, adopted on 16. meeting of the University Administration, held on 6 February 1996, on the basis of the personal wish expressed by the donor of the funds, the late Mr Atanas Bliznakov.

The donor Athanas Bliznakov was born in 1901 in the village of D'mbeni, in Kastoria, Aegean Macedonia. In 1920 he left his native land and went to the United States, where he lived and worked until 1976. He then moved to Skopje and founded the Foundation, which is the first and largest foundation established by a Macedonian emigrant.

The foundation is a legal entity that is liable for its obligations with its own assets and funds.

The Foundation achieves the purposes, rights, interests and convictions for which it was established by acquiring and managing assets and property. The organs of the Foundation are the Board and the Director.

In accordance with Article 19 of the Foundation's Statute (No. 12-1039 of 3 December 1998, No. 12-350 of 15 April 2011 and No. 12-867/2-1 of 9 November 2017), At the end of each year, the Board of the Foundation submits a report on the Foundation's activities and a financial statement to the Rectorate.

 

Aims of the Foundation

The aim of the Foundation is, through the awarding of scholarships, to assist students who demonstrate outstanding academic results in their further education, professional training and development. The annual fund for the payment of students' scholarships is formed solely from the income received as interest on the Foundation's assets.

 

Scholarships

The right to receive the scholarship is determined by publicly announced competitions, based on criteria for students with more modest financial means who demonstrate high academic performance. The scholarship is awarded for ten months of the academic year and does not have to be repaid.

The Foundation „Konstantin Stoyanov“ at the University Saint. "Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje was established pursuant to the will of the late Mr Constantine Stoyanov of France, dated 30 March 1973, deposited with the Professional Notarial Association 'Maurice Demortreuil and Xavier Demortreuil, Associated Notaries' in Paris, Republic of France, on 14 June 1973.

The founder of the Foundation is the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, represented by the Rector of the University. Decision No. 08-945 of 31 December 1999 on the establishment of the Foundation was adopted at the 45th meeting of the University Administration, held on 23 December 1999.

The Foundation is a legal entity that realises the objectives, rights, interests and convictions for which it was established by acquiring and managing assets and property. The Foundation's bodies are the Board and the Director.

The Foundation pursues its aims and objectives with funds obtained from the estate provided by the will of the late donor, Mr Konstantin Stoyanov, from the amount representing dividends on shares, and from funds received in accordance with the provisions of its Statute.

In accordance with Article 25 of the Foundation's Statute (No. 22-708 of 9 November 2000 and No. 08-348 of 15 April 2011), At the end of each year, the Board of the Foundation submits a report on the Foundation's activities and a financial statement to the Rector's Office.

 

Aims of the Foundation

The Foundation's main aims and objectives are to enrich, promote and develop the library collection and library activities in the field of French language and literature, to train staff in this field at postgraduate and doctoral level, as well as to pursue other cultural, scientific, professional, educational and other purposes in the field of Francophonia, within the framework of fulfilling the activities, goals and tasks of the founder, the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in Skopje, and in accordance with the Constitution, the law, the will of the testator, Mr. Konstantin Stoyanov, the Founding Decision and the Statute.

 

Scholarships

On the basis of a publicly announced competition, scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled and who will enrol at the Faculty of Philology "Blaže Koneski" in Skopje, in the study programmes in French language and literature. The scholarship is awarded for 10 months of the academic year and is non-repayable.

The Foundation „Peter Stamatov“ at the University Saint. "Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje It was established on the basis of the personal wish of the late Mr Petar Stamatos of Chicago, USA. Decision No. 08-658 of 20 October 1988, establishing the Foundation, was adopted at the 228th meeting of the University Council, held on 1 April 1988.

The Foundation is a legal entity that realises the objectives, rights, interests and convictions for which it was established by acquiring and managing assets and property. The Foundation's bodies are the Board and the Director.

In accordance with Article 19 of the Foundation's Statute (No. 18-1038 of 3 December 1998, No. 18-349 of 15 April 2011), At the end of each year, the Board of the Foundation submits a report on the Foundation's activities and a financial statement to the Rector's Office.

The Foundation's primary aims and objectives are to support, through scholarships, students who demonstrate outstanding academic results in their further education, professional training and development.

No. 02-610/10 of 26 April 2024, adopted at the 9th session of the University Senate of the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in Skopje, held on 26 April 2024, on the initiative of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje. The Foundation is a legal entity, whose bodies are: the Board, the Director and the Secretary.

 

Aims of the Foundation

The aim of establishing the Foundation is to protect and nurture the legacy of Goran Stefanovski's work as a lasting cultural value, expressed through:

  • publication of published and unpublished works by and about Goran Stefanovski, with the aim of improving the availability of his work in all world languages and his further international affirmation;
  • Building a culture of going to the theatre and an appreciation of the dramatic arts among the youngest;
  • promotion and encouragement of Macedonian dramatic works;
  • promotion, support and affirmation of literary and theatre studies research and academic and journalistic projects dedicated to Macedonian drama and theatre;
  • to fund the education at all levels of talented pupils and students in the field of the dramatic arts and in the field of philology, with a commitment to the study and research of Macedonian drama;
  • supporting and promoting talented pupils, students and young people who are involved in film and theatre as amateurs;
  • the advancement of formal and informal education for the creation and study of drama;
  • organisation of educational debates, workshops, seminars and campaigns;
  • organisation of artistic and scientific conferences;
  • Activities for the promotion, support and development of theatre and film criticism and of literary criticism dedicated to dramatic works;
  • international projects through which Macedonian drama, theatre studies and literary studies (with an emphasis on dramatic writing) will be promoted;
  • projects for the promotion of the history and enduring values of Macedonian drama and theatre;
  • projects that will explore and affirm the work and contribution of Goran Stefanovski, both through his achievements in and beyond the theatre;
  • promoting the archiving and preservation of significant materials for Macedonian drama and theatre;
  • Humanitarian projects (mainly of a performing arts and audiovisual nature) to support vulnerable groups.
