The interdisciplinary research team at UКИМ with significant results in regenerative medicine
On 4 March 2025, the Rector of the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in Skopje received the representatives of the University's interdisciplinary research team, which is engaged in scientific research in the field of regenerative medicine. The representatives and team leaders from the Medical Faculty, Prof. Dr Sofija Pejkova, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Prof. Dr Itzko Georgievski, and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr Velimir Stojkovski, informed the Rector of the progress of the research and the results achieved. In this regard, it was noted with general satisfaction that the University has competent staff and appropriate research equipment to conduct research that is compatible with the most modern trends in the relevant field.
The research team has been working on this issue for three years and has presented its results at several conferences and congresses, and in February this year some of the results were published in the eminent Journal of Biological Methods, indexed in the scientific database PubMed.
The interdisciplinary research in the field of regenerative medicine is the first in our country, and the results obtained are among the first in the world. Thus, once again, the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje demonstrates and proves its capabilities in the broader research and scientific arena beyond the country's borders.
Rector Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova supported the work of the research team, and all future activities are planned to be carried out within the Consortium for Scientific Research in the Field of Regenerative Medicine at the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje.
