UКИМ and its university units donate 3,800,000 denars for the citizens affected by the fire in Kočani

The University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje (UKIM), together with all its units, is donating 3,800,000 denars to the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, intended for financial assistance for the citizens affected by the fire in Kočani.

The tragic event that claimed so many lives has caused immense pain throughout our society, a pain that will never be overcome. In these difficult times, when a great number of families have lost sons and daughters and when a huge number of young people are recovering from the severe consequences that the fire has had on their health, It is of the utmost importance that we show solidarity and help to ease their recovery, even if only slightly.

A tragedy of immense proportions has occurred and we, as an institution dedicated to young people, express our great hope that the case will be resolved swiftly by the relevant authorities and that justice will be served, thereby, at least to some extent, easing the public grief.

We believe that the allocated financial resources will help in these difficult times, and that the commitment will demonstrate the unity of Macedonian society.
