A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, the "Education for Employment in North Macedonia" project – Phase 2, and the Swiss Programme for Enhancing Market Employability.

On 24 April 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in Skopje, represented by the Rector, Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova, The project "Education for Employment in North Macedonia – Phase 2", represented by team leader Kurt Witrich, and the Swiss Programme for Market Employability, represented by director Goran Damovski.

This Memorandum formalises the joint commitment to enhance practical training for students by integrating real-world work experience, as well as actively involving the private sector in the design of study programmes in line with the actual needs of the labour market.

The event was officially opened by Rector Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova and the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Switzerland, Ms Michal Harari. Particular attention was drawn to the presentations on the successful collaborations between the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Skopje (FTM) and the company Max Steel AD Skopje, presented by the general director of Max Steel, Marija Pavlovska Dukovska, Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Prof. Dr Stefan Kuvendzhiev, and Pro-Dean for Science and International Cooperation, Prof. Dr Beti Andonovikj.

Those present also had the opportunity to learn about the initiative of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food in Skopje, in collaboration with the company Agrounicum, presented by Agrounicum's Deputy Director, Sanja Stojkoska, and the Pro-Dean for Teaching, Professor Dr Biljana Kuzmanovska.

The students involved in the practical training also shared their experience, emphasising the importance of such partnerships for their professional development.

The event represents a significant step towards strengthening the link between higher education and the business sector, opening up new opportunities for students and faculty at UKI M.
