International success: Our team with an award-winning poster at the MATERIALS 2.0 conference in Cambridge, United Kingdom
It is with great honour and pride that we inform you that the interdisciplinary team, composed of Prof. Dr Betty Andonovik and Prof. Dr Aleksandar Dimitrov from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy at the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in Skopje and Viktor Andonovik, a PhD student and young researcher at the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia (a graduate engineer of FЕІТ, UKIM), participated in the first international conference MATERIALS 2.0, which was held on 28 and 29 April 2025 in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
As part of the conference, the team had the honour of delivering an invited plenary lecture and a scientific poster presentation, and the poster they presented was awarded best in a competition of around twenty presentations from renowned universities worldwide.
The conference was held in academic collaboration with Distinguished Research Professor R. Vasant Kumar from the Department of Materials Science at the University of Cambridge and Dr Athan Fox, entrepreneur and founder of the start-ups Regenerate Technology Group (USA) and Ever Resource (United Kingdom). The event served as a significant platform for networking and knowledge exchange, under the motto:
„An innovative approach to environmental protection through practices that actively restore and revitalise our planet!“
The winning research is the result of many years of dedicated collaboration among the team members, and the poster's visual quality and impact were enriched by the design of Goran Zlatevski from Magnet Moment.
