УКИМ одбележува 76 години од основањето – три дена исполнети со свечености, уметност и академски признанија - Универзитет „Св. Кирил и Методиј“ во Скопје

UКИМ marks 76 years since its foundation – three days filled with festivities, art and academic accolades.

Skopje, May 2025 – The University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in Skopje, the oldest and largest higher education institution in the country, is celebrating its 76th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the University is organising a three-day programme of events, which will be held on 22, 23 and 30 May, as part of the celebration of the jubilee and its patronal feast day – the Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius.

The festivities will begin on 22 May (Thursday) with a concert by the Academic Cultural and Arts Society "Mirče Acov" at the House of the ARM.

The main event will be held on 23 May (Friday), and will begin on the forecourt of the Rectorate, where flowers will be laid at the monument to Saints Cyril and Methodius, after which the programme will continue in the University's ceremonial hall. Addresses are scheduled from the Rector, Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova, and the President of the University Student Assembly, Aleksandar Nikolovski, after which there will be a ceremonial award of prizes for the best graduating students of the 2023/2024 academic year, as well as the presentation of the '26 July' award from the Frank Manning Foundation. The event will be enriched by an artistic programme by students from the Faculty of Music Arts – Skopje.

The anniversary celebrations will continue on Friday 30 May with another significant event – the ceremonial conferment of the title of Honorary Professor (Professor Honoris Causa) on Professor Dr Peter Mark of Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. This day will also be accompanied by a fitting artistic programme.

The celebration of UKIM's 76th anniversary is a reminder of the role the University plays as the foundation of academic development in the country and the best place to start and build a successful professional future.
