The Chair of Macedonian Language at the University "Konstantin Filozof" in Nitra, Slovakia, was officially opened.
On 8 December 2025, on the feast day of Saint Clement, the beginning of a new and significant phase in the spread of the Macedonian language and culture in Europe was marked. A Chair of Macedonian Language was opened at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University "Konstantin Filozof" in Nitra.
The ceremony was attended by a delegation from UCM, comprising Prof. Dr Kristina Nikolovska, Director of the MSMJLK; Prof. Dr Vladimir Martinovski, Dean of the Faculty of Philology "Blaže Koneski"; and Prof. Dr Zvonko Taneski, who has been appointed as a lecturer.
Professor Dr Zvonko Taneski, who through his long-term scientific, translation, higher education and cultural mission in Slovakia has built strong bridges between Macedonian and Slovak culture, will serve as a lecturer at the newly established Chair of Lectureship and continue this important intercultural collaboration.
The opening of the Chair represents a strong impetus for the development and promotion of the Macedonian language, literature and culture beyond our borders, and at the same time a new chapter in Macedonian-Slovak academic relations.
