A workshop with the Symphony Orchestra of Yale University was held at the Faculty of Music Arts
This event was part of the orchestra's 2025 Balkan tour and included collaboration with the Faculty of Music Arts' own symphony orchestra. Students from the strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, and keyboard departments participated in the workshop. The program featured two movements from John Williams' Star Wars suite, with both orchestras merging seamlessly to deliver a performance marked by precision and ease.
Established in 1965 by a group of students who envisioned a large symphony orchestra on campus, the Yale Symphony Orchestra is a faculty-led ensemble comprising approximately 100 musicians. The orchestra has a rich history of promoting new music and performing works by underrepresented composers.
Over the years, it has collaborated with renowned artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Nigel Kennedy, and Emanuel Ax and is considered one of the premier youth orchestras in the United States. The orchestra is currently under the direction of Maestro William Boughton, founder of the English Symphony Orchestra.
The Faculty of Music Arts – Skopje remains committed to fostering collaborations that promote the achievements of its students. The recent workshop with the Yale Symphony Orchestra stands as a testament to this dedication, providing students with invaluable opportunities for artistic exchange and growth.
