The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – MFS at UGJK celebrated its 65th anniversary.
On 19 June 2024, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – Skopje (FME-S) at the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in Skopje celebrated The 65th Jubilee with a major event that highlighted its rich history and contribution to the development of engineering and its application in the industrial sector. At the same time, the following were held:
The professors of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, together with representatives from the other faculties of UKI and industry partners, marked this jubilee by discussing a decade of academic excellence and contribution to the scientific field in the Republic of North Macedonia. The event was followed by inspiring addresses from the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Science, Prof. Dr Zlatko Petreski, the Rector of the University 'Св. Кирил и Методиј', Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova, distinguished alumni and industry leaders. The event served as a platform for unveiling future initiatives aimed at continuing excellence and innovation in the development and transfer of technologies, as well as fostering the innovation and excellence of the next generation of engineers.

| As part of the jubilee celebrations, the team of students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – Skopje at UGJK launched the project. „Formula Student“ under the name MES Racing which was initially launched at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – Skopje, before being developed interdisciplinarily, with the inclusion of students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) and the Faculty of Economics (FE).
A team of ambitious students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has started this project to design Formula 1 car, demonstrating their engineering prowess and innovation. The project not only challenges their technical skills but also fosters their teamwork, problem-solving, and project management abilities. This endeavour, supported by faculty and industry advisors, represents a significant step in their educational journey. This bold project is a testament to the students' dedication and the Faculty's commitment to nurturing innovative talent. The students from the Formula Student team will participate in the competition with their unveiled car, which will be held in August 2024 at the Rimac Moto track in Croatia.
