TITAN USJ and the Faculty of Civil Engineering signed a memorandum of cooperation for the new project "Knowledge + CO₂ -".„

Skopje, 28.11.2024 – In a joint commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability and decarbonisation, TITAN USJE and the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' (UKIM) today officially signed the Memorandum of Cooperation for the implementation of the project 'Knowledge + CO₂ -' – with knowledge and innovation towards less CO2. The aim of the project is to contribute to reducing the carbon footprint and creating long-term sustainability through education, research and raising awareness.
The project's activities will be carried out through three main modules: an Educational Module – organising courses, internship programmes, field visits and podcasts; Research and Development Module – multidisciplinary research and the opening of a smart laboratory, and Awareness-Raising Module – youth competitions, an annual exhibition and other activities.

Students from technical faculties and young researchers interested in these fields, as well as representatives from other institutions, will be able to participate in the activities of this project.

This collaboration is also important because it will contribute to their advancement and encourage new research and projects involving young people. This partnership will inspire and educate our students about the challenges and opportunities of the transition to a green economy," stated the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at UGM, Prof. Dr Goran Markovski.
TITAN USJE is a pioneer in the application of circular economy principles, and as a result, the company reduced its CO₂ emissions by 2,600 tonnes in 2023, which is equivalent to taking 560 cars off the road. In addition, the company installed a 3 MWp photovoltaic power plant, saving approximately 3,200 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
Over the past five years, the company has invested more than €6 million in digitalisation, artificial intelligence-based solutions, innovative technologies and sustainable practices, including environmentally friendly types of cement and renewable energy sources such as solar power and alternative fuels. Investments in these areas will continue, with an additional 20 million euros planned to be invested over the next three years.
