50 YEARS SINCE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE LECTURESHIP OF THE MACEDONIAN LANGUAGE AT THE MSMYLK OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SKOPJE AT THE FACULTY OF PHILOLOGY, MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY "LOMONOSOV"„
On 14 October 2025 the great jubilee was celebrated – half a century since the establishment of the Chair of Macedonian Language at the Department of Slavic Philology, Faculty of Philology, Lomonosov Moscow State University in the Russian Federation.
On this occasion, an online International Scientific Conference, "The Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture in a Slavic and Balkan Context," was held, with the participation of renowned Macedonists and Slavists from the country and abroad.
Professor Dr Biljana Angelova, Rector of the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, emphasised the importance of the Lexicon's ongoing work, which for five decades has served as a bridge of cooperation, cultural exchange and academic commitment.
Prof. Dr Kristina Nikolovska, Director of the International Seminar for Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture at UCM, emphasised that this jubilee is a testament to the successful mission of the Chair in promoting and affirming the Macedonian language, literature and culture at an international level.
Since 1975, the Chair of Macedonian Language in Moscow has been a symbol of academic dedication, cultural closeness and friendship between peoples, and is currently led with great dedication by Ms Hristina Angeleskа-Miyoska, MSc.
