Working meeting between the Rector and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China
On 19 February 2026, the Rector of the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius', Professor Dr Biljana Angelova, met with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Jiang Xiaoyan.
The meeting discussed enhancing academic and scientific cooperation, developing joint research projects and increasing the mobility of students and teaching staff. The commitment of UCM to internationalisation based on scientific relevance and quality in higher education was emphasised.
Special emphasis was placed on deepening partnerships with higher education and research institutions from the People's Republic of China, as well as on the importance of the cooperation to date, including the activities of the Confucius Institute at UКИМ.
The meeting represented a significant step towards strengthening institutional communication and further developing educational and scientific ties between the two countries.
