On 17 February this year, the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje and TAV Macedonia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The memorandum was signed by the Rector of UКИМ, Professor Dr Biljana Angelova, and the Managing Director of TAV Macedonia, Mr Nejat Kurt.

This collaboration represents a significant step towards creating a workforce prepared for contemporary challenges and towards increasing the applicability of knowledge in the real sector; this partnership opens up new opportunities for connecting the academic community with the business sector, as well as for the joint development of innovative, digital and sustainable solutions.

The focus of the newly established cooperation is directed towards:

– Advancement of the educational and scientific research process
– creating modern study programmes in areas such as aviation security, logistics, ICT, environment and management
– organising internships, practical training and work-based learning for students
– support for bachelor's, master's and doctoral research
– implementation of joint scientific research and development projects
– training, seminars, workshops and conferences

The partnership also envisages the exchange of expertise, data and good practices, as well as the organisation of joint events with domestic and international institutions.
