The Formula STUDENT team of students from UKIМ at the Formula Student Alpe Adria competition

The team Formula Student Students from UКИМ participated in the Formula competition. Student Alpine Adriatic Sea on the Bugatti track Rimac in Croatia

Formula Student Alpe Adria was held in Velika Gorica, Croatia, from 20 to 25 August at the renowned Bugatti Rimac track test facility. Over 50 teams with more than 1,000 students from the most prestigious universities across Europe took part in the competition. The competition is organised into two main categories: internal combustion engine cars and electric cars, which were assessed according to different criteria.

The MES Racing team, which comprises 20 students from the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje (UКИМ) (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Faculty of Economics) competed in the Concept class and was highlighted as the youngest promising team among those participating in such an event for the first time. The team also received praise for the realisation of the car in a running condition within a short period of time (6 months), which successfully passed the chassis and electronics assessments, and was deemed solid, with the components approved for use in future competitions without modification. The judges pointed out that the next area of development is the car's aerodynamic package, ergonomics, and a more detailed business plan, which are the team's targets for the coming year.

The majority of the university teams from across Europe, who are participants in the competition, have been taking part in these competitions for more than 10 years and continuously develop their car. As debutants, the members of the UoK team were impressed by the experiences that students from other teams shared with them, considering how to implement their advice on the vehicle in the coming years. This competition provided a unique hands-on experience for the UGM students, with the aim of competing next year with a competitive car against the best teams from Europe.

The outstanding fighting spirit, courage and perseverance of the students from UKIM were noted not only by their competitors, but also by the organisers and judges of this event. More on the following link.

Congratulations to the students of UКИМ, members of the MES Racing team!
