57th Summer School
MSMJLK at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje
(Ohrid, August 15–29, 2024)
In the year when the oldest and most renowned Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje celebrates its 75th anniversary, the International Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature, and Culture will organize its 57th Summer School in the magnificent ancient city of Ohrid, a cultural, spiritual, and tourist hub, from August 15–29, 2024, at the Congress Center of UKIM.
With a renewed vision, updated concept, and enriched content, MSMJLK at UKIM offers a unique opportunity to study Macedonian language, literature, and culture over two weeks, taught by distinguished professors, lecturers, researchers, and collaborators. The faculty includes prominent Macedonian studies scholars, philologists, cultural theorists, folklorists, ethnologists, musicologists, philosophers, and historians.
The International Seminar organizes regular classes, plenary lectures, and elective courses. Starting this year, it will also provide a wide range of activities, including cultural and artistic programs, book promotions, meetings with writers, and excursions to significant cultural and historical landmarks.
Ohrid, an ancient city and UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the world's top tourist destinations. The Ohrid-Struga region and Lake Ohrid are true gems of the Balkans, offering a unique cultural and tourist experience.
