- Abstract: This book views acting as a complex, dynamic and multi-layered process that cannot be reduced to a single method or a closed system. Drawing on the anthropological roots of theatre and the fundamental human need for play, imitation and representation, the work traces the development of acting theory in the twentieth century, with a particular emphasis on the relationship between psychological, physical and social action. The theoretical approaches are considered in interrelation and in dialogue with practice. In the concluding section, through an analysis of the pedagogical work in the subject of Acting, the book connects theory with the concrete acting process.
