UКИМ congratulates: 5 May – Day of the Macedonian language!

The Macedonian language is a legacy that we must preserve, nurture and develop.
The great thought of Misirkov is our bequest: "Tenderness towards the people's language is our duty and our right. We are obliged to cherish our language, for it is ours, just as our homeland is."„
Regarding the great vow, Blaze Koneski will masterfully declare: "As long as we preserve, nurture, guard and cherish our Macedonian language, we can consider that we also have a homeland – like a house, like a home, like a hearth."„
From the address by the Rector of the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in Skopje, Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova, at the event for 5 May – the Day of the Macedonian Language, as well as the marking of the jubilees: 80 years of the codification of the Macedonian language, 80 years since the adoption of the Macedonian alphabet and 80 years since the adoption of the first Macedonian orthography, organised by the Institute for Macedonian Language "Krste Мисирков".
