65 years of teaching Italian at the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje
On 17 October 2024, at the opening of the scientific gathering '65 Years of Italian Language Studies at the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in Skopje', Rector Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova, in her welcoming address, emphasised: "Multilingualism, long defined as a priority concept worldwide, is also part of our concept; more than 25 foreign languages are studied at our university, among them is the Italian language, which has been taught since 1959 with the opening of the Italian language lectorate within the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, and later the Department of Italian Language and Literature"… "On this occasion, allow me to particularly highlight the role of R. Italy in deepening and expanding the cultural and academic cooperation between our two countries, but also for the permanent monitoring and support of the scientific and educational activities of Italian Studies at UKIМ, as well as in other fields of our University."„
