Macedonian Fonts
For consistency and uniformity of the texts published in the University Bulletin, materials for publication must be submitted as Microsoft Word 2003 documents, using exclusively the system font Georgia. This font contains a rich set of Cyrillic characters (Macedonian, Serbian, Russian), Latin characters (with various types of diacritics), Greek and other symbols. A variant of this font (as well as several other fonts) with corrected characters in italic format for the Macedonian letters 'д', 'п', 't', 'g' can be downloaded from the link below. A software solution is also provided, which allows the keyboard on a personal computer running Windows (2000, XP, Vista and 7) operating system, pressing the '`' key in the Macedonian layout followed by the appropriate vowel 'e' or 'i' (upper or lower case) will produce the character 'ѐ' or 'ѝ' (upper or lower case, respectively).
Software installation
1. The setup.exe programme is launched. This programme installs a keyboard layout definition on the system that is identical to the system's Macedonian support layout, with the additional definition of the characters 'е' and 'и' as diacritics.
2. Start->Control Panel ->Region and Language is activated, which opens a new window. In it, select the Keyboards and Languages tab and click the Change Keyboards button, which opens a new window called Text Services and Input Languages. On this window's General tab, in the Installed Services section, under Macedonian (FYROM) keyboard, only Macedonian should remain. Click OK several times.
3. When installing the attached fonts, you must first delete the existing Georgia fonts (four font files) before installing them in the usual way. Before deleting, you must first close all programmes that might be using the font(s), as otherwise the deletion will not complete successfully and the system will return an error stating that the font is in use.
