- Abstract: The introduction of theoretical set-theoretic ideas into teaching is motivated by their role in the contemporary development of mathematics. In the mathematical sciences, from the vast diversity of facts, three guiding and unifying ideas have been singled out, upon which mathematics can be built: the ideas of set, relation and structure. On the other hand, the deductive nature of mathematical theories requires the correct use of logical reasoning. This textbook examines elements of mathematical logic (sentences, predicates, tautologies, formal theories) and elements of naive set theory (the concept of a set, the concepts of relation and mapping, cardinal and ordinal numbers).
