On 22 November, an extended meeting of the Quality Council was held, attended by representatives from all UKiM units, including deans, pro-deans and the units' quality councils, as well as representatives of the USS. The meeting was addressed by the Rector, Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova, and the Head of the Centre for Quality, Prof. Dr Marina Mitreska, The President of the University Quality Council, Prof. Dr Mišo Dokmanović, and the Chairperson of the University Self-Evaluation Commission, Prof. Dr Jadranka Blaževska Gilev.
For the first time, a new structure has been established at the University, responsible for quality assurance at both central and unit levels.
In accordance with Article 19, paragraph 2, point 12 and Article 55 of the Law on Higher Education (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia no. 82/18 and Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia no. 178/21), The University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in Skopje has established a quality assurance system, fully compliant with positive legal regulations, relevant experiences regarding the quality of higher education and with the accepted standards and procedures of the guidelines applied by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education.
Rector Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova emphasised the importance of implementing the quality management process, stressing the necessity of this process, not only from the perspective of the Law on Higher Education but as a process we need to identify our weaknesses and align the teaching, research and artistic activities of the University with European quality standards and to provide better conditions for studying and higher quality teaching for students and a better quality of research activity.
