Election of the President of the Interuniversity Conference

Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova, the current Rector of the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, is the new President of the Interuniversity Conference of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The new president will head this body for the next two years, starting from 1 October 2024.

The decision to elect the president was unanimously made by the members of the Interuniversity Conference.

The election of a new president of the Interuniversity Conference was held due to the expiry of the term of office of the incumbent president, Academician Professor Dr Abdulmenaf Bedjeti, Rector of the South East Europe University in Tetovo.

The Interuniversity Conference, under the leadership of its new president, faces many challenges in higher education.

An interuniversity conference is a form of cooperation and a body through which the common interests of accredited public and private higher education institutions in the Republic of North Macedonia are coordinated, and within which decisions are made on matters of common interest to all higher education organisations in the country.

Prof. Dr. Biljana Angelova, the current Rector of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, has been elected as the new President of the Inter-University Conference of the Republic of North Macedonia.

She will serve a two-year term, beginning on 1 October 2024. The decision to elect Professor Angelova was unanimously approved by the members of the Inter-University Conference.

Her election follows the expiry of the term of the outgoing president, Academician Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, Rector of the South East European University in Tetovo.

Under Professor Angelova's leadership, the Inter-University Conference will address various challenges facing higher education.

The Inter-University Conference serves as a collaborative body for accredited public and private higher education institutions in North Macedonia, aligning their common interests and addressing issues of mutual concern.
