Prof. Dr Ognen Spasovski, Faculty of Philosophy, best social scientist
Prof. Dr Ognen Spasovski from the Faculty of Philosophy is the recipient of the UKIEM Award for the best social scientist of 2024. He researches in the field of psychological sciences, focusing on the evolutionary mechanisms underlying mental processes and human behaviour, as well as the study of factors of psychological well-being at the level of the individual, community, and in an educational context.
In their work they examine the relationship between socio-economic circumstances and love as an emotion that strengthens commitment and attachment between partners, as well as the effects of anxiety, impulsivity, self-destructiveness and difficulties associated with reduced attention and hyperactivity.
In 2024, they publish scientific papers and studies and actively participate in international expert bodies (Council of Europe, ETF, RCC). Their scientific output in 2024 includes papers in Science Advances, part of the prestigious journal Science's portfolio. ✨
