Meeting between the Rector of UKIМ, Professor Dr Biljana Angelova, and the Rector of the University for Foreigners in Perugia, Professor Dr Valerio De Cesaris

A meeting was held at the University for Foreigners in Perugia (Italy) between the Rector of the University "St. Cyril and Methodius", Professor Dr Biljana Angelova, and the Rector of the University for Foreigners in Perugia, Professor Dr Valerio De Cesaris.

At the invitation of the Rector of the University for Foreigners in Perugia, Professor Dr Valerio De Cesaris, the Rector of the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius', Professor Dr Biljana Angelova, was in Perugia from 18 to 20 April 2024. During her stay, the Rector of the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' Professor Dr Biljana Angelova also met with the Rector of the University for Foreigners in Perugia, Professor Dr Valerio De Cesaris, where they discussed the successful cooperation between the two universities to date, particularly in the development of Italian Studies at UKIM. The long-standing friendship between the two universities was confirmed, and the exceptional importance of the cooperation for academic and cultural exchange between Macedonia and Italy was emphasised.

Also, during the meeting, the expansion of cooperation was discussed from various aspects, including the exchange of students and professors from other faculties between the two universities, joint participation in European projects and scholarship programmes, as well as the organisation of joint events, seminars and conferences. This collaboration aims to open up new opportunities for learning and development for the students and academic staff of both universities, by utilising the scientific and professional resources available.

During her stay, Rector Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova attended the final conference of the LMOOC4SLAV project (Romance languages for Slavic-speaking university students), which was held at the University for Foreigners in Perugia (Italy), where the project's results were presented. The meeting was attended, in addition to Prof. Dr Radica Nikolovska, the project's faculty coordinator, and Prof. Dr Aleksandra Sarjovska, a project participant, by representatives from several European universities.
