The 38th woodcarving colony was held at the Bigorski Monastery, organised by FDTMEM.

The 38th Woodcarvers' Colony was held at the Bigorski Monastery, organised by the Faculty of Design and Technology of Furniture and Interior (FDTMF) and with the participation of the Association of Woodcarvers of Macedonia (ZKMAM). The event was opened by the president of ZKMAM, Mr Nikola Mihajlovski, the Rector of the University 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in Skopje, Prof. Dr Biljana Angelova, and the Dean of the Faculty of Design and Technologies of Furniture and Interior (FDTMF), Prof. Dr Gjorgji Gruevski. The colony will be held from 18 to 23 October 2025 and brings together distinguished master carvers and young artists from several cities across the country.

Students from the Faculty of Design, Technology, Media and Architecture (FDTME) at UКИМ also participate in the programme, where through practical work and direct collaboration with experienced carvers they enhance their knowledge and skills in the fields of design, wood carving and artistic woodworking. This activity represents a significant part of the faculty's continuous efforts to connect academic education with real-world professional practice.

The participation of the University and FDTMU in such initiatives contributes to promoting applied art, nurturing cultural heritage and encouraging new generations of young creatives. The colony serves as an example of a successful partnership between the university environment and arts and crafts organisations, aimed at developing a contemporary and practically oriented education. ✨
